Marion Francis Bell, age 86, of Antigonish, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2022, in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Antigonish, she was a daughter of the late Colin Daniel "Collie Billie" and Mary Catherine (MacLean) MacDonald.

Married to her loving husband Bill for 59 years, their proudest accomplishment was their 3 children, 6 grandchildren, and many fur babies. Marion was a true matriarch, sharing her wisdom, love, and support with her family. She was young at heart, kept up with current events, and loved hanging out in her room with all her grandchildren.  She was the life of the party, and she loved a good time with friends and family, especially at "The Cove" and "Hawthorne Street" and was always the last one to leave.  Known for her clean floors, fresh sheets, roast beef dinners, best gravy ever, brownies, and late-night snacks, she always said "you don’t have to eat it but I made it with a good heart".  She was a fighter, a strong woman, a Survivor.

She is survived by her husband William "Bill"; children, Carolyn (John) Grant, Antigonish; Lorraine (Ron) Hill, Dartmouth; Brian (Dina) Bell, Antigonish; grandchildren, Julia, Lauren, Candice, Evan, Mya, and Kori; many nephews and nieces; and her fur baby Lucy.

Marion was predeceased by her siblings William, Catherine, Lawrence, Leonard, Colin, Isabel, and Irene; and in-laws, Mona and Gerry Miles.

The family expresses their sincere gratitude to the doctors and nurses involved in her care.

Cremation has taken place.  Funeral service will be held May 6, 2022 at 10:30 am in C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College Street, Antigonish, Deacon Henry van de Wiel presiding.

In Memoriam, donations to CA-R-MA - Cat Rescue Maritimes, Antigonish Chapter appreciated.
