A memorial service will be held At the Cove Motel, Auld's Cove on Saturday October 8th at 2pm, followed by a visitation until 5 pm, burial at a later date in Quispamsis NB.

Cormier, Michael Gerard, 69, formerly of Antigonish Nova Scotia, died suddenly on Friday, May 13, 2022, in Winter Harbour BC.

Born at Debert Air Force Base in Nova Scotia, he was the oldest of 5 children born to the late Frank and Theresa (MacPherson) Cormier.

Mike grew up on various Air Force bases in Canada and Germany, and he served for 5 years in the Canadian Military as a communication tech. Throughout the rest of his life, Mike worked in various jobs and at one time had his own software company "Vital Knowledge Software". Although technically retired, he spent the last 10 years as Manager of Winter Harbour RV and Marina in Winter Harbour BC. He and his partner Patti spent their summers in Winter Harbour and winters in Gold Canyon Arizona. Mike loved the outdoors and nature and was a skilled Scuba Diver. On and in the ocean is where he felt at home. He was an advocate for saving the oceans and all life in them. He spent several years working with the organization "Oceans Watch" to that end.  Mike also had a lifelong passion for Photography and amassed thousands of photos from around the world.  

He is survived by his partner, Patti Raiche; daughter, Emma (Meghan Steacy), Ottawa Ont.; son, Bill (Cassandra Martin), Oromocto, NB; step granddaughter, Airyana, Oromocto, NB, sisters, Deborah (Robert) Wood, Campbellford, Ont.; Valerie (Sandy) Cormier-Cole, Windsor Ont; brothers, Richard, New Market Ont. and Frank (Debbie) , Antigonish, NS. Several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents he is predeceased by his son Justin, "Scoopy".

Service arrangements are incomplete at this time, a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
