Theriault, Arthur Joseph "Art", age 83 of
Antigonish passed away on June 30, 2022, in St. Martha’s
Regional Hospital, Antigonish.
Born in Merland, Antigonish County, he was the son of the
late Frank and Rita (Doyle) Theriault.
Losing his wife, Betty, of 56 years this past May, he was
eager to be by her side again. Part of the Nova Scotia Insulators
Union, you could not find a harder worker on the job. He was a dear
friend of everyone in the Maryvale community, especially enjoying his
trips to the Maple Lodge camp on the mountain with the guys. If Art
wasn’t home, you could usually find him watching for his
next deer or playing Auction 45’s at card plays. A volunteer
with the 4 Valleys Fire Department, he received an honorary 25 year
service award. Art was a very generous man who would be the first to
help a friend or neighbour that needed a hand.
He is survived by his children, Sheila (Greg) MacDonnell,
Dartmouth; Kevin (April), Antigonish; Nancy (Robert) Sheehan,
Merigomish; Angie (Lloyd) Lynch, Ketch Harbour; Matthew (Kimberly),
Antigonish; grandchildren, Andrew, Mallory, Laura, Olivia, Daniel,
Kristy Ann, Rebecca, Tyler, Rebecca, Samuel, Abigail, Bria and Cohen;
and great grandchild Rachel. Arthur is survived by brothers Johnny and
Clarence; and sisters, Lillian, Ann and Mary.
Predeceased by his loving wife of 56 years, Betty; son,
Alfred; sisters, Hazel, Mabel, and Sally.
Cremation has taken place. Funeral Mass will be
held Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at 10:00am in St. Mary’s

Special thanks to the St. Martha’s Regional

close to. Also great appreciation to Dr. Cudmore who went above and
beyond as his family physician, the family especially appreciates you
