A memorial video
of Theresa has been posted to the Videos

Landry, Emily
"Theresa", age 81, Afton, Antigonish
County. On September 14, 2022, our beautiful mom gained her
angel wings surrounded by her children at the R.K. MacDonald Nursing
Home, Antigonish.
Born October
1, 1940, she was the sixth child of twenty-two children born to Helen
(Mattie) and Jim DeCoste and raised in Linwood by Joe and Annie Jane
DeCoste.
Our mom was a
survivor of polio contracted at a very young age, but she never let
her disability hold her back from enjoying all of life’s
pleasures. She loved the simple things in life, whether it
was fishing at the lake or blueberry picking. She loved
attending bingo and card plays and many poker games with her sisters,
sometimes to the wee hours of the morning. Mom played darts
at the Legion for many years. She enjoyed bowling, Sunday
drives with her children and Joe and loved a sweet treat; especially,
jam and toast and a good hot coffee. Mom was a cat lover
like no other. Her cats were her babies, and we were pretty
sure she liked them more than people some days. She had a special love
for all her children and we will miss her daily phone calls checking
in on each of us.
Left to morn
her empty chair is Joe, her best friend and companion of almost thirty
years; children: Lorena (Dave), Liscomb; Elaine (Norm), Truro; Melvin
(Pam), Ft. McMurray; Jeannie (Terry), Monastery; Laurie Ann (Lee),
Truro; Joe’s children: Brenda (Ernie), Francis (Cathy),

will be her grandchildren Nico and Robin.
