Gillis, Donald Leonard "Lennie", age 80 of Glen Road, Antigonish County passed away on January 17th, 2023 at St. Martha`s Regional Hospital in Antigonish.

Born in Glen Road, he was the son of the late Donald and Kathleen (Chisholm) Gillis.

A frequent traveler, Lennie visited and also worked in many areas across Canada.  In his later working life, he worked in Water Treatment with the Municipality of Antigonish. As a lover of the outdoors with a natural green thumb, he was an avid gardener, hunter, and fisherman.

He is survived by his son Michael (Sanako), Calgary AB and their son Bruce; siblings Jim (Donalda), Antigonish; Mary Gillis (Ed), Halifax; Joan (Dave) McGrath, Dartmouth; Rita Anderson, Halifax; Gerard (Marie), Glen Road; and brother-in-law, Carroll Boyd, Lakevale.

Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his wife, Patricia (Topalian); sister, Margaret Boyd; and brother-in-law Tom Anderson.

Cremation has taken place with a private family service at a later date.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of C.L Curry Funeral Home, 135 College Street Antigonish.
