Our loving Mother and Nanny,
Barbara Elizabeth Spin, 78, of Monastery died Monday May 15th in St
Martha’s Regional Hospital surrounded by her
family.
Born in Havre Boucher, she was
the daughter of the late Victor and Margaret (Casey)
DeCoste.
Widowed at a young age, Barbara
devoted her life to raising her large family; being both Mom and
Dad. She had an infectious laugh, a door that was
always open, a home cooked meal ready, and only asked for a phone call
to make sure you arrived home safely. Many were
welcomed into her home over the years and she was affectionately
referred to as "Nanny Barb". She was
a fabulous cook, baker and an avid card player who
enjoyed her Friday night card games with her
sisters.
Barbara is
survived by her children; Marion (Donnie) MacDonald, Addington Forks,
Elizabeth "Bibs" (Duane) Boudreau,
Bayfield, Patricia (Shane) DeCoste, Monastery, Jodie (Joel)
Skinner, Cape Jack, Rudy, Monastery, Paul (Pauline), Monastery, Brian

Greg, Morghanne, Logan, Reid, Maredith,
Casey, Jacob, Johnathan, Jason, Hannah, Stuart,

She will be missed by her
sisters Rita (Phil) Meagher, Havre Boucher and Anna "Dolly"
Fraser, Dartmouth and brother Mike DeCoste, New Glasgow along
with many nephews and nieces, especially Linda who held a
special place in her
heart.
Barbara was predeceased by her
husband Rudy 43 years ago. As well as

We would like to thank Dr. Jane
Ann Howard and the nursing staff of the Palliative Care Unit at St.
Martha’s Regional Hospital for the wonderful care they
