Turner, Franklyn "Frank" Seymour,  86, of Lower South River, formerly of Ecum Secum passed away at St. Martha’s Regional Hospital on May 26, 2023.

Frank grew up in Ecum Secum and was the oldest of four children.  He was a long liner and lobster fisherman for 40 years.  He was a member of the Orange Lodge and was very involved with St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Ecum Secum West, holding many positions over the years including church warden and treasurer.  Frank enjoyed living next door to his brother and his wife and watching their children Tracey and Matthew grow up.  He was always happy when his other siblings and their children would come to visit.  He had a special relationship with each of his nieces and nephews; Jim, Patti, Shirley, Michael, Donna Lee and Scott.

In January 1996 Frank went to a dance in Antigonish where he met the love of his life, Josie Chisholm. They were married on November 6, 1998.  Frank moved to Antigonish and began working for A&R Venedam Construction where he worked for over 20 years.  Frank and Josie purchased their mini home in Lower South River in 1999 and Frank loved tinkering in his building and working in the garden.  He was loved by the neighborhood kids who would come to visit and play in their yard. He had a great fondness for their neighbor’s cat, Ice Cold, who he spoiled and took care of.  Frank and Josie enjoyed travelling around the province and visiting different scenic locations.

Frank became very involved with St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Antigonish where he acted as warden and helped with maintenance. Frank faithfully went to the church every Sunday morning for many years to turn on the furnace so the church would be warm for the morning services.

Frank made many friends in Antigonish and enjoyed his morning get-togethers at Tim Hortons.

Frank will be deeply missed by his family and friends.  He is survived by his loving wife Josie, stepchildren Daniel, Laurie (Tim), Alison (Kenny), Ian (Julia), his 7 grandchildren Haley, Sarah, Mya, Amelia, Ava, Alex and Ruby; his siblings Perlis (Lorna), Dianne and many nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his parents, Milton and Maude Turner, his sister Marie King, nephew Michael King, brother-in-law Gordon Parker and Mike King.

The family wishes to thank the staff at St. Martha’s Regional Hospital for taking care of Frank in his final days, especially Dr. Lisa Gillis, Dr. Emma Chiasson, Dr. Gordon Simms and Dr. Marion Che.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on August 24th in St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Antigonish officiated by Reverend Natasha Breubaker. A reception will follow in the John Paul Centre, Antigonish and all are welcome.

Due to illness of a family member, it is requested that masks be worn for the funeral and reception.  Also, the funeral will be streamed live on the Parish of the Three Harbours Facebook page.

Donations in Frank's memory may be made to the family. Online condolences: www.clcurry.com.
