Edwin, age 74, of Halifax passed away suddenly
at home on April 7, 2024.

Katherine (Tait) and Edwin Oliver
John embarked
on his professional journey as a teller for The Bank of Nova Scotia in
Stellarton, advancing through various roles across different positions
in many places. Over the years, John and Connie established homes in
San Francisco, Bermuda, Calgary, Toronto, and Chester, eventually
retiring to Fox Harb’r, where John could indulge in his
passion for golf. The last two years saw them settle in Halifax
frequently traveling to Toronto to spend time with Matthew, Diana,
Madeline, and Caden.
John and
Connie made countless friendships over the years through their many
moves and voyages. John always looked forward to adventures with his
golf group, playing some of the most challenging and prestigious
courses all over the world. John and Connie also formed some wonderful
friendships through their Kalos golf trips and spent many happy times
"cruising" with this fun group. Even when home, John was
always planning their next trip.
John's legacy
will endure for his deep love for family, unwavering motivation,
resilient character, vast knowledge, passion for spirited debate, and
generous support of others - particularly small communities, where he
actively participated in various capacities. John loved spending time
with the family dogs, finding joy in their playful antics and
companionship. John's enthusiasm for cheering on the Montreal
