Wadman, Sheila C., age 84, of Lower South River, Antigonish County, passed away on September 21, 2025, in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish.

Born in Glace Bay, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Lorine (Pink) Somers, the oldest of five children.

Sheila worked as an executive assistant for a computer firm in Cambridge, Massachusetts.  Upon settling in Antigonish, Sheila was known for her beautiful porcelain dolls and quilts, where visitors would be encouraged to sit with a cup of tea and enjoy the space.  An animal lover, she will be missed by her dogs and her cats.

Sheila is survived by her son, Matthew (Cheryl), Williston, FL; granddaughter, Kaitlyne Wadman, Williston; siblings, Faith (late Arthur) McMullin, Glace Bay; Chesley (Michelle) Somers; Milton, ON; Kilby (Garth) Kipping, Sydney River; and many nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

She is predeceased by her husband, Richard; and brother, Matthew Lowell Somers.

Cremation has taken place, and a graveside service will be held at St. Mary’s Anglican Cemetery in Glace Bay on Monday, September 29, 2025 at 2:00pm.
