Della Mildred Shea

Della Mildred Shea, 76 of East Chezzetcook NS, passed away on March 15, 2012, with her family by her side at her son’s home in Antigonish.

Born on October 18th 1935, she was a daughter of the late Ernest George Howe and Bessie Eliza Roberts in Hoyt, NB.

She loved and focused on her family and she enjoyed gardening, shopping, bird watching, sewing, quilting and cooking for friends and family. She was always an earlier adopter of technologies and loved to take pictures. Besides her children, Della placed a high value on the friendship of her many brothers and sisters, her in-laws and special friends and neighbours. She was an active member of Dartmouth United Pentecostal Church.

Della will be greatly missed by her children: K. David (Barb) Shea, Antigonish, Kathy (Lynden) Shalm St. Louis Mo, Colleen (Charles) Williams Ottawa, Nilah (Larry) Melanson New Minas, and Della L. Shea Toronto. Siblings: Bernice Murphy, Ruby Whittaker, Ida (Hubert) Spragg, Mary (Vernon) Bone, Donald (Crystal) Roberts, Douglas (Jeannie) Howe, Marion (Howard) Harris, Eldon (Laura) Howe, Helen (David) Vaughan, Nellie (Heinz) Schmidt, George (Joan) Howe. Grandchildren: Kevin (Kallee) Shea, Sarah Shea, Stephen Shea, and Andrew Shea; Melissa (Shawn) Waggot, Warren and Charles Williams, Krister (Jaime) Shalm, Lindsey (Chad) Davis, Harley Shea, Jayden Shea, Braden and Brittany Melanson. Great-grandchildren: Mark and Adrianna Shea, Victoria and Pierce Davis.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Kevin Joseph Shea, and sons Ernest "Ernie" Gerald, and Frank, sister, Marguerite Whittaker.

Visitation on Saturday, April 7th 11 a.m. at Dartmouth United Pentecostal Church, 293 Main St. Celebration of Life following at 1 p.m. with Reverands George Howe and James Underwood officiating. Interment to follow in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens.
