DeYoung, Mary Virginia.   It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Mary Virginia DeYoung, 83, of Cape Jack,  N.S, who passed away peacefully on July 12, 2014 at her family home as per her wishes.

Born in Tracadie, N.S., she was the only daughter of Fredrick and Anastasia (DeCoste) De Gruchy.  A devout Catholic, Mary was a member of St. Paul's Church, Havre Boucher, and a past member of the CWL.

Mary enjoyed knitting, gardening, cooking, and baking.   She also very much enjoyed spending time with her family.   Her grandchildren and great grandchildren brought her so much joy when they came for a visit.  Her heart always carried extra special love for babies and small children.

Married for 64 years, she shared a loving and devoted relationship with her husband Eddie.  Often times during the summer, they could be found sitting outside on their deck enjoying their beautiful view.

She is survived by her husband,  Edward, Cape Jack; daughter, Linda (Bill) Allard,  daughter, Judy (Tory) Andrews,  daughter, Carolyn (Edgar) Nicholson, son, Dennis (Gilda), daughter, Wenda (Terry) Myette, son, Allen (Maria), all of Linwood, daughter, Valerie (Paul) Crissman, Fort Lauderdale, FL; 17 grandchildren, Kevin, Elliot, Olivia, Jason, Melissa, David, John, Amanda, Nicole, Tyler, Jenna, Jonathan, Trent, Logan, Cory, Christine, and Julie; and 7 great grandchildren, Ethan, Brayden, Mayce, Shael, Cali, Layla, and Kate.

Besides her parents she is predeceased by her two sons Kevin and Barry.

Visitation will be held from 2-4pm and 7-9pm Tuesday at St. Paul's Centre, Havre Boucher.    Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday at St. Paul's  Church, Havre Boucher, Reverend Allan MacPhie presiding.   Burial in the parish cemetery.
