Boyle, Eugene
Stephen, 71, of Afton passed away peacefully at home
surrounded by family on August 19, 2014.
Born in Antigonish, he was a son of
the late Thompson and Irene (Murphy) Boyle.
Eugene worked as an electrician for
most of his life acquiring his Red Seal in 1970. For the last number
of years he was Electrical Supervisor with Walker's Electric. He
enjoyed gardening and could even boast he had one of the most
beautiful gardens in Afton. He also enjoyed time spent hunting at the
old homestead in Merland. And above all, he adored his seven
grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife of
48 years, Jeannie (Bowie); son, Bradley (Sarah), Afton; grandchildren:
Dalton, Autumn, Alex, Shamus, Audrey, Cora and Andy; brothers: Joe
(Margaret), Afton; Jimmy (Louise), Truro; sisters: Margie Prosser,
Enfield; Cathy (Don) Beck, Annapolis Valley; Pat Alexander,
Lethbridge, Alta; sisters in law: Louise, Afton and Maureen,
Antigonish; brother in law, Maurice Pitts, Truro.
He was predeceased by brothers, Johnny
and Buddy and sister, Helen and an infant sister; brothers-in-law
Albert Prosser and Bruce Alexander.
Visitation in C.L. Curry Funeral Home,
135 College Street, Antigonish on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.
Funeral Mass will be in St. Peter's Church, Tracadie on Saturday at
11:00 am, with Father John Barry presiding. Burial in the parish
cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer
Society; St. Peter's Church Fund or St. Patrick's Church, Merland.
