Grant, Katherine Marie "Tat", 100 years of age, formerly of Heatherton, Antigonish Co., and Greenwold Manor, Antigonish, passed away suddenly and peacefully on September 21, 2014 at the R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home, Antigonish.

Tat was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Born May 20, 1914 in Black Avon, she was a daughter of the late Ronald and Margaret (MacDonald) MacDonald. Tat grew up on a large mixed farm, helping her father with barn work and her mother maintain a boarding house. She was a member of the first 4-H Club in Nova Scotia and won a Grand Championship Ribbon in Halifax for showmanship with her calf "Beauty". Tat loved to dance and walked to many a dance in Guysborough Intervale and Marydale. In 1944 she married Francis Grant and finally settled in Heatherton. Tat was an avid crafter, loved to crochet and loved being down on her knees in a flower bed. She was a former member of the Heatherton Church Choir , Heatherton Club 60 and the Greenwold Go Gettters.

Tat is survived by her daughter Doreen (John) Bailey, Heatherton; grandchildren, Sabrina (Andre) DeWolfe, Cole Harbour; Ryan Bailey, Heatherton; Pamela Bailey, Dacotah, Man.; step grandchildren Hilary and Kevin DeWolfe; sister in law, Janette MacDonald, Monastery and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Francis, infant daughter Katherine; son Jack; brother Alexander.

There will be no visitation by her request. Funeral mass will be held in Immaculate Conception Church, Heatherton on Wednesday at 11:00 am with burial in the parish cemetery.
