IZZARD (JORDAN) MARY ALICE, 68, New Glasgow

It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of our mother which occurred at the VG Site, QEII, Halifax on October 3, 2014 with her children, grandchildren and sister by her side. Mary Alice was born in Mulgrave and raised in Lincolnville, the daughter of the late John Harvey and Charlotte Mary (Jarvis) Jordan.

Mary Alice had a strong faith and found great comfort in attending church services. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. She enjoyed walking and being a homemaker. She was a kind, gentle soul who was always there for anyone in need. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by many.

Mary Alice is survived by her sister, Ardella (Wilfred) Desmond, Lincolnville; her twelve children: April (Keith) Aylesford, Alice and Dorothy (Anthony), Antigonish; Winnie, Mary and Abbey-Gail, New Glasgow; sons: Hugh "Joe" Jr., Zachary, David (Stephanie), Isaiah (Mary Ann), Thomas and Emmanuel, New Glasgow; son in law, Tim Hillier, Alberta; thirty three grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Hugh Joseph "Joe" Izzard; son David Arnold Izzard (1st) in infancy; sisters: Margaret Clyke and Ceceila Douglas; brothers: Thomas and George Ash and Walter Jarvis; grandparents: Veronica "Vicki" (Jordan) and George Reddick; Margaret Ann (Mombourquette) and George Jarvis; grandson, Johnathan MacLellan and son in law, William "Billy" Pelly.

Visitation will be in C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College Street, Antigonish on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral Mass will be held in St. Ninian Cathedral on Thursday at 11:00 am with Reverend Gary MacPherson presiding. In keeping with Mary Alice's wishes, burial in St. Monica's Church Cemetery, Lincolnville.

The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors at the VG Site (ICU) and the nurses in the Dialysis Unit, St. Martha's Hospital, Antigonish for their kindness and care. Online condolences: www.clcurry.com.
