IZZARD (JORDAN) MARY ALICE, 68, New
Glasgow
It is with deep sadness that we
announce the death of our mother which occurred at the VG Site, QEII,
Halifax on October 3, 2014 with her children, grandchildren and sister
by her side. Mary Alice was born in Mulgrave and raised in
Lincolnville, the daughter of the late John Harvey and Charlotte Mary
(Jarvis) Jordan.
Mary Alice had a strong faith and
found great comfort in attending church services. Her children and
grandchildren were her pride and joy. She enjoyed walking and being a
homemaker. She was a kind, gentle soul who was always there for anyone
in need. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by
many.
Mary Alice is survived by her sister,
Ardella (Wilfred) Desmond, Lincolnville; her twelve children: April
(Keith) Aylesford, Alice and Dorothy (Anthony), Antigonish; Winnie,
Mary and Abbey-Gail, New Glasgow; sons: Hugh "Joe" Jr.,
Zachary, David (Stephanie), Isaiah (Mary Ann), Thomas and Emmanuel,
New Glasgow; son in law, Tim Hillier, Alberta; thirty three
grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and several nieces and
nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband,
Hugh Joseph "Joe" Izzard; son David Arnold Izzard (1st) in
infancy; sisters: Margaret Clyke and Ceceila Douglas; brothers: Thomas
and George Ash and Walter Jarvis; grandparents: Veronica
"Vicki" (Jordan) and George Reddick; Margaret Ann
(Mombourquette) and George Jarvis; grandson, Johnathan MacLellan and
son in law, William "Billy" Pelly.
Visitation will be in C.L. Curry
Funeral Home, 135 College Street, Antigonish on Tuesday and Wednesday
from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral Mass will be held in St. Ninian
Cathedral on Thursday at 11:00 am with Reverend Gary MacPherson
presiding. In keeping with Mary Alice's wishes, burial in St. Monica's
Church Cemetery, Lincolnville.
The family would like to thank the
nurses and doctors at the VG Site (ICU) and the nurses in the Dialysis
Unit, St. Martha's Hospital, Antigonish for their kindness and care.
