MacDonald, Frances E., 68, St. Andrews, Antigonish Co., passed away at the QEII Health Science Centre on October 22, 2014.

Born in Morar, she was a daughter of the late John Joseph and Mary Anne (Smith) MacDonald.

Frances was a truly resilient person throughout her lengthy illness. She displayed great strength and courage, always thinking of others before herself. She was an active member of her church and community. She was a member of St. Andrews CWL for many years and a volunteer for the Kidney Foundation and Antigonish Food Bank. Frances was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

She is survived by her husband, Archie; sons: Jim, Sarnia, Ont.; Dwayne, St. Andrews; Darren (Lisa) and their daughter, Elizabeth, Hammonds Plains; sisters: Kaye (Doug) MacLean, James River; Sally (Tom) Massel, London, Ont.; brothers: John, Sarnia, Ont.; Steve (Jeannie), Lavonnia, Mich.; Don (Sue), Hamilton, Ont.; Mike (Helen), Chesley Lake, Ont.; Bill (Carole) Corunna, Ont.; sister in law. Cathy MacDonald, Antigonish.

She was predeceased by sisters: Anna and Florence; brothers: Jim, Blaise, Lauchie and brother in infancy as well as sister in law, Lena MacDOnald.

Visitation in C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College Street, Antigonish on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral mass will be held in St. Andrews Church, St. Andrews on Monday at 11:00 am with Reverend Charles Cameron presiding. Burial in South River Cemetery. Donation in memory may be made to N.S.
