Boucher, William John, 81, of Cape Jack, Antigonish County,
passed away November 16, 2014 at St. Martha’s Hospital
Regional Hospital, Antigonish.
Born in Cape Jack, he was the son of the late John Charles
and Mary Bernadette (DeCoste) Boucher.
Billie worked as a fisherman and carpenter. He was
a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners Local
1588. He occupied his childhood family home for most of his
life. He enjoyed his retirement, keeping himself busy with
vegetable gardening, mowing the lawn, playing cards, making jigsaw
puzzles, and family visits. His many wood working projects can be
found throughout his family and friends’
homes.
He leaves behind his wife of 59 years, Marie Jean (Fougere).
He will also be sadly missed by his children: daughters,
Debbie (Gary) Brow, Havre Boucher; Ramona (Steve) MacAskill, Halifax;
Marjorie (Gordon) Cameron, Sydney; Brenda (Rick) Hanlon, Linwood;
Patricia (Dale) DeCoste, Edmonton; Francine (Allan) MacQuarrie,
Halifax; sons, Charlie (Diane) Boucher, Calgary; Anthony (Kathy)
Boucher, Calgary; Greg (Sheryl) Boucher, Antigonish; grandchildren,
Angela, Christopher, Janessa, Kendra, Melissa, Nicole, Devin, Lindsay,
Jeremy, Jordan, Corey, Gaelan, Tara, Madison, Quentin, Sarah, Neil,
Victoria, Amanda, Brendan, Megan, Rylan, and Emma; great
grandchildren, Lily, Easton, Lexi, Allie Rae, Seth, Grace, and Ella;
brothers, Gus (Anne), Havre Boucher; Rev. J. Roy, OMI, Arnprior,
Ontario; sisters, Theresa DeCoste, Havre Boucher; Isabelle (Elmer)
Fougere, Havre Boucher; Edith Boucher, Arnprior; Anne (John) Van Wyk,
Arnprior; Sisters-in-law Edna Boucher, New Glasgow, Kay Boucher,
Antigonish; Brother-in-law, Leonard (Alice) Fougere, Powell River B.C;
as well as many nieces, nephews, and godchildren.
Billie was predeceased by a son Leonard Joseph (infancy);
brothers, Bernard, Joe, Charlie, Harry, Victor; sister, Marjorie
(infancy); sister-in-laws, Elaine Boucher, Marjorie Fougere;
Brother-in-law, Damien DeCoste; step-brothers-in-law, Joe and Stanley
Carpenter; and step-sisters-in-law, Hazel DeYoung, Bernadette
MacDonald, and Bernice Webb.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m on Wednesday November
19th in St. Paul’s Centre, Havre
Boucher. Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Paul’s
Church on Thursday at 11:00 a.m with Reverend Allan MacPhie presiding.
Burial in the parish cemetery.
The family extends their grateful thanks to Dr. Mary Gorman,
Dr. Bill Booth and to the MedSurg/Geriatric Assessment Rehabilitation
Unit (GARU) team.
