Burton, Carole Ann, 77, Bayloch Road , Lakevale, Antigonish County, formerly of Halifax, Heatherton and Antigonish, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on December 9, 2014 in St. Martha's Regional Hospital, Antigonish.

Born in Halifax, Carole was the daughter of the late George and Theresa (Branch) Spears.

While her children were growing up, Carole was a stay at home mother. She later was employed as a receptionist at the Oland Centre, St. F.X. University. Carole loved her home in Bayloch, especially her window view of the South Lake and St. George's Bay. She loved nature, animals, feeding the birds, and baking. She was famous for her chocolate chip cookies. She had a great telephone voice, helping Doug with his real estate business. For her grandchildren she was just a phone call away, providing unconditional love, support, and guidance. A strong personality, Carole was someone others could lean on. She was a great listener and very accepting of all people. She welcomed everyone into her home and had many lifelong friends. She had a sharp mind, embraced technology, and the social media, surpassing many of her children. She will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving husband of fifty-six years, Doug; her children: Darlene (Robert Kanchuk), Cole Harbour; Paul (Karen Smith), Halifax; Deanna, Moncton; Delores (Jim MacIntosh), Antigonish; Darren (Bernadette MacPherson), Moncton; grandchildren: Justin, Alexa, Grace, Erin, Lorenzo, Stephanie, Sophie, Felicia, Jennah; great grandchildren: Kaison, Carter and Jaden.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Ronald W. Spears of Charlottetown.

Visitation will be in C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College Street, Antigonish on Friday, December 12, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral Mass will be held in St. Ninian Cathedral on Saturday, December 13, at 11:00 am with Reverend Donald MacGillivary presiding.

Family flowers only please. Memorial donations may be made to St. Martha's Regional Hospital Auxiliary. Online condelences: www.clcurry.com,
