DeCoste, Margaret Edith, 73, of Monastery, Antigonish Co. passed away peacefully on December 16, 2014, in St. Martha's Regional Hospital, Antigonish, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Mattie Settlement, she was the daughter of the late Benedict and Irene DeCoste.

Edith was a loving stay-at-home mom, raising 8 children, and had a deep devotion to her faith. She enjoyed visits from all of her family and took great joy in family gatherings. Edith loved gardening, baking, reading, blueberry-picking, and playing cards and radio bingo. She also enjoyed watching her cats and keeping a look out for birds. She will be fondly remembered for her sharp wit and sense of humour.

She is survived by her four sons, Reggie (Becky), Roger (Lisa), Brian (Karen), and Keith (Patsy), all of Monastery; three daughters, Donna (Donnie) McNutt, Monastery, Jean (Ed) Gurney, Antigonish, Laurie (Mike) Durant, Pomquet; 18 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; six brothers, Bernie (Rose Marie), Mattie Settlement; Pat (Rita), Grosvenor; Leonard, Mississauga, Ontario, John (Maureen), Truro, Clarence (Sandy), Sheet Harbour, Billy (Sharon), Antigonish; four sisters, Leona (Gary) Bennett, Linwood, Elizabeth DeCoste, Maureen (Robert) Bennett, and Debbie (Johnny) Bowie, all of Antigonish.

She was predeceased by her husband Vincent, son Donnie, brothers-in-law John Beshong and Ralph DeCoste, sisters-in-law, Gloria DeCoste, Marilyn DeCoste, and Candy DeCoste; nephews, Rodney Perry and Ralphie DeCoste; and niece Debbie Murray.

Visitation will take place Thursday from 7-9pm and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9pm in St. Peter's Place, Tracadie. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday at 11am in St. Peter's Church, Tracadie, Fr. John Barry presiding. Burial in the parish cemetery.
