Mosey, Irene Marie, 50, Dartmouth, but
formerly of Paqtnkek Mi'kmaw Nation, Antigonish Co. passed away on
January 12, 2015 in Halifax.
Born in Antigonish she was a daughter
of Carl Richards and the lateMary Anne (Mosey)
Clements.
Irene was a strong woman who endured
many trials and tribulations over the years. She used her life
experience to help others. She was an adult care worker, not only in
Paqtnkek, but also when she relocated to Dartmouth. She also help many
single mothers with childcare. Irene was a frequent visitor to the
Mi'kmaw Friendship Centre and took part in many events and workshops.
She is known for her sense of humor and her laugh. She could brighten
up anyone's day just by her presence, She had a personality to attract
people and develop long time friendships. She had a great love for her
one and only daughter and her grandchildren.
Survived by her daughter, Michelle
(Bosco Peters) Mosey, Elsipogtog; three grandsons: Nowlen, Trey and
Tyrease and granddaughter, Jorja; brothers: Thaddie Chair, Thomas
Clements and Lloyd Mosey, all of Elsipogtog and Gerard Julian,
Paqtnkek; sisters: Sharon Peter-Paul, Darlene Clair, all of
Elsipogtog, AnneMarie Paul, Linda Julian, Diane Paul, Mary Paul,
Laurie Julian and Kimberley Julian, all of Paqtnkek and Carole Taylor
of Port Hastings.
She was predeceased by her siblings:
Arthur James Clair and Marsha Clair.
Visitation will be at the home of
Irene's sister, Mary Margaret Paul, 151 Sagamaw Road, Paqtnkek Mi'kmaw
Nation after 4 pm on Saturday. Funeral will be held in Immaculate
Conception Church, Heatherton on Monday at 10:30 am with Reverend
Charles Cameron presiding. Burial in St. Ann's Cemetery, Summerside
Road.
