VAN DE SANDE, Andre M., age 70, Brierly Brook, Antigonish County passed away on January 16, 2015 in St. Martha's Regional Hospital, Antigonish.

Born in Holland, he was the son of the late Adrianus and Cornelia (Ros) Van de Sande. Andre was owner-operator of Antigonish County Diesel for many years. He enjoyed farming, gardening and was a familiar face greeting parishioners at St. Ninian Cathedral 8 am Mass.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia; sons: Duane, Steven (Lori), Adrian (Jenny); grandchildren: James, Anna, Kale and Mya; brothers: Casey (Toosje); Marinus (Jane); William (Rhodena); Tony (Diane); sisters: Joanne (Marinus) Bekkers; Mary (Barry) Bowen; Elizabeth (Jack) MacEachern.

Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation. Funeral Mass will be held in St. Ninian Cathedral on Wednesday, January 21,2015 at 11:00 am with Reverend Donald MacGillivrary presiding.
