"Carmel, Heatherton
It is with great sorrow
that we announce the passing of our favourite sister, aunt and friend
on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at St. Martha's Regional Hospital, with
family at her side.
Born May 1, 1952 she was a loving
daughter of the late Kenneth and Catherine (Hanrahan)
Chisholm.
Carmel was a member of Immaculate
Conception Parish and CWL. She was actively involved in the Heatherton
Activity Centre since its beginning, and resided at the Small Options
Home in Heatherton since its opening 18 years ago. Carmel loved
knitting, crocheting and taking part in community and family
activities.
She is survived by, and will be
greatly missed by, siblings: Catherine Ranger, London, Ont.; Donald
(Evelyn); Libby (Chisholm) MacDonald; Albert (Joan) all of Heatherton;
sister-in-law, Jeanette Chisholm and aunt Chrissie Chisholm,
Antigonish; many nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and
cousins. She is also survived by her extended family Margie, Joey,
Charlie, Frank and Colin.
Besides her parents, she was
predeceased by brothers: Charlie, Ronnie, Jim, Stewart and
brother-in-law Glen Ranger.
Visitation will be in C.L. Curry
Funeral Home, 135 College Street, Antigonish on Monday, January 26th
from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral mass will be in Immaculate
Conception Church, Heatherton on Tuesday at 10:30 am with Reverend
Charles Cameron presiding. Burial in St. Mary's
Cemetery.
