Tate, Mary Anita, 81, of
Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow and formerly of Grosvenor, Antigonish
County passed away on January 25, 2015 at the nursing
home.
Born in Janvrin's Island, Richmond Co., she was a
daughter of the late Alphonse and Elizabeth (LeBlanc) MacNeil.
She worked in housekeeping at St. Martha's Hospital
prior to her marriage to Harold Tate. She then devoted her
life to raising her family.
She is survived by sons: David, Vincent and Foster
(Cathy), Grosvenor; daughter: Isabelle (Fred Brown), Grosvenor;
grandchildren: Matthew, Morgan, Kendall, Mitchell and Wanda; siblings:
Florence (Lewis) Farrell, St. Andrews; Mamie (Henry) Sampson, St.
Peter's; Peggy (Nicholas) Fougere, Ontario; Anne May (Raymond) Savoie,
Ontario; Patrick (Margaret) MacNeil, St.
Andrews.
She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years,
Harold; son, Carmen; siblings: Clara Waterfield; Katie Boudreau; Doris
Dorey; Roderick MacNeil and Vincent in infancy; half siblings: Mary
Bates, Loretta Patterson; Gertrude Paquette, Murdock MacNeil and
Margaret Jane MacNeil.
Visitation will be in St. Peter's Place, Tracadie
on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral Mass will be
held on Thursday at 11:00 am in St. Peter's Church, Tracadie with
Reverend John Barry presiding. Burial in the parish cemetery at a
later date.
Funeral is under the direction of C.L. Curry Funeral
