Prosper, Daniel Joseph, 77, of Paqtnkek First Nation, Afton, NS passed away on March 11, 2015 at the R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home, Antigonish.

Born in Bayfield Road, Antigonish Co, he was a son of the late Jasper and Mary Agnes (Marshall) Prosper.

Dan Joe was an Iron Worker in the United States for many years. He was also a laborer in construction and a pulp cutter. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He is survived by daughters: Mary Margaret Paul, Paqtnkek First Nation; Lillian Prosper, Membertou; Rita Prosper, Paqtnkek First Nation; Patricia Prosper, Paqtnkek First Nation; sons: Norman Prosper, Ottawa; Daniel James Prosper, Paqtnkek First Nation; Maury Prosper, Halifax; 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; brother John R. Prosper, Paqtnkek First Nation.

He is predeceased by a son, Roderick, sisters, Lena Ellen, Mary Bernadette, and Rita; brother Eugene.

Visitation will be on Saturday after 4:00pm at the home of his brother John R. Prosper, 7926 Hwy #4, Afton. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday at 10:30 am in Immaculate Conception Church, Heatherton with Reverend Charles Cameron presiding. Burial in St. Ann's Cemetery, Summerside Rd.
