Marguerite Mary Boyd 93

A long time resident of Lakevale, Antigonish Co. died March 19, 2015 at the RK MacDonald nursing home with her family by her side. Born March 11 1922 in Morristown Antigonish Co, she was the eldest daughter of Dan Angus and Margaret Boyd.

Marguerite loved socializing and she had a wonderful warm smile. She was married for 57 years to the late Myles John Boyd. Marguerite was a member of St. Columba Parish and the Parish Guild.

She is survived by sons Allan (Vonnie) Lakevale and Vonnie’s son Gary, Antigonish, Carroll, Lakevale, daughter Marian Crawford (Bill), Lakevale, 4 grandchildren Jimmie Boyd (Leah), Allana Boyd (Alex), Bill Crawford (Katie) and Heather Clark (Ryan), 6 great grandchildren, Maggie & Jack Boyd, Chase, Adley-Grace, Sadie-Mae Crawford, and Will Clark. She is also survived by 2 brothers Alex (Tena), John (Cordis) and 5 sisters Martha, Chris (Forbes), Marie (J.P.), Lucille (Walter) and Rita (Russell) and sister-in-law Kay Boyd and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her husband Myles, she was predeceased by her son Donnie (1970) and baby daughter at birth (1952), 1 sister Tada, 4 brothers Joe, Buddy, Jerome, and Blaise, daughter-in-law Margie, 2 brothers-in-law Eugene MacDonald and Jim O’Neil, 3 sisters-in-law Helen, Terry and Jean.

Visitation in C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College Street, Antigonish on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Columba Church, Lakevale on Monday at 11:00 am with Reverend Evo DiPierro presiding. Burial in the parish cemetery at a later date.
