Ann Elizabeth (Betty) Sawler,
age 83, passed peacefully March 25th at the Port Hawkesbury Nursing
Home.
She was born in New Castle, NB, daughter
of the late Marie and Patrick Gahan.
Betty was a compassionate nurse for many years in Hamilton,
Ont. and later ventured into Real Estate for an approximate 24 years.
She was active in Girl Guides of Canada, The Strait Festival, and The
Canadian Figure Skating Association, a member of The Red Hatters.
Betty was one who loved to entertain with food, fun, and music while
still maintaining a home and always made many knit and sewn items for
family and gifts.
Betty is survived by her
husband Clayton Owen Sawler of Liverpool NS, who presently resides in
The Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home. Her son, Harvey Sawler,
resides in PEI with partner, Charlette. Daughters,
Diedra Maire Fougere Port Hawkesbury and Gay Elizabeth Thibeau of
Riverview NB Brother Herbie Tarr, wife Emma from New
Castle. Grandchildren, Brad Brow of Halifax, Sheldon Brow of
Toronto, Kirstin (Jamie) Nagy of California, Chantal Fougere of
Tracadie, Shannon Brown (Chris) of Fredericton, Vanessa
Cronkite (John) of Fredericton, Jeremy Thibeau of
Riverview, Brandon Thibeau (Janik), Riverview, and Great
Grandchildren Maddy and Alex Brown and Layla Nagy
Betty is predeceased by her sister Shirley,
brothers Stanley, Jack and Ray.
Visitation will be held at St. Paul's Centre in Havre Boucher
from 2-4 and 7-9 on Friday. Funeral Mass will be held
Saturday in St. Paul's Church at 11:00am, Reverend Alan McPhie
presiding.
