Raymond "Ray" Edward Wallace, 80 of St Mary's Street, Antigonish, passed away very peacefully in St Martha's Regional Hospital on April 3, 2015. Raymond was born in Merland, on May 5, 1934 to the late Annie (Daley) and James "Jim" Wallace.

Raymond, in his early years worked as a forester, then spent 29 years with St Francis Xavier University most of which were as a chef. Raymond was very devout to the Catholic faith; attending mass was a daily ritual. He was a simple man with simple needs. He was most happy when family was around and his little dog "Scruffy" was in his lap. Raymond had a dry sense of humor that often provided, unwittingly to him, a great deal of comic relief – it was something akin to "All In The Family". Raymond is survived by his wife of 42 years, Tena (Beaton), daughter, Raylene, Moncton, NB and son, Edward, Antigonish, very special granddaughter, Desirae "Little Billy" and special grandsons, Austin and Joey (Carrie); sisters, Kathleen "Kay" Chisholm and Grace Dort of Antigonish, Margaret Bray of Copper Lake and brother, Edmund of Huntsville, Ontario.

He was predeceased by brothers, Jimmy Vincent, William John and sisters, Mary Florence, Helen Blair, Marcella in infancy.  Raymond faced great loss in his life most recent being his dear little granddaughter, Kylee and "Little Maria". We the family will miss him incredibly and hope he now has the peace he deserves.

Cremation has taken place at Raymond’s request. Visitation will be in C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College Street, Antigonish today, April 8, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and Funeral Mass Thursday, April 9, 2015 at 11am in St Ninian Cathedral with Reverend Donald MacGillivray presiding. Burial in the parish cemetery at a later date.

Memorial donations may be made in Raymond’s name to St Ninian Cathedral Building Fund or Nova Scotia Heart & Stroke Foundation . Online condolences: www.clcurry.com.
