MacGillivray, Kevin
Daniel, 64, of Antigonish passed away on April 11, 2015
at home.
Born in
Antigonish, he was a son of the late Jack and Mary MacGillivray of
Williams Point.
Kevin worked
in numerous Co-op stores in his career as a meat cutter. He was a
proud member of the Browns Mountain Springers. Kevin was an avid
sports fan who loved his Maple Leafs. In his younger years he played a
lot of softball and darts. Kevin was a proud grandfather who really
enjoyed taking his grandchildren for drives.
He is
survived by his wife of 43 years Ruby (Breen); children Twila Neely
(Tim Currier), Dundas, Ont; Melanie MacGillivray (Louis Whitfield),
Whitby, Ont; Geno (Tanya MacPherson), Brierly Brook; grandchildren
Gage and Irelyn MacGillivray and Ethan and Owen Neely; sisters
Catherine (Al) Kuzyk, Edmonton; Mary Theresa (Jim) Scriver, Yorkton,
Sask; Rebecca (Art) Lausch, Dartmouth; Janice (Greg) Fraser, Williams
Point; brothers Jimmy (Gladys), Williams Point; Johnny (Paula) and
Vince, both of Edmonton; Donald (Mary-Anne) Lawrencetown, Coady (Kim),
Belleville, Ont; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws.
Predeceased
by brothers Joseph "Dody", Allan, and brother-in-law Kevin
Breen; and nine infant siblings.
Cremation has
taken place. Visitation will be held Thursday form 2-4 and 7-9 in C.L.
Curry Funeral Home, 135 College St., Antigonish, Funeral Mass will be
held on Friday at 11:00am in St. Ninian Cathedral, Reverend Donald
MacGillivray presiding.
