Farrell, Arthur Vincent, age 83, Antigonish, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2015 at Cape Breton Regional Hospital in Sydney.

He was the son of the late Margaret Ellen "Nellie" (Quirk) and Lewis Farrell.

Art was born and raised in Glencoe, Guysborough County and later moved to Antigonish, where he lived and worked all of his adult life. He was a man of many trades throughout the years working in road construction, Christmas tree farming, and delivering furnace oil for Irving Oil and MacGillivray Fuels.

Family, friends, and his faith were the most important things in life for Art. Known as a kind and friendly man, he enjoyed playing music and singing with his brothers and friends and loved playing pranks to get a laugh. He was an active member of St. Ninian’s Cathedral Parish, participating as a hospitality minister for many years.

Art will be greatly missed by his daughter Natasha, and son-in-law Ken Parsons, grand-daughters, Lauren and Halle and dear friend Marie Pettipas. He is survived by his sister, Alice Brophy, Antigonish; brothers, Clarence (Mary Kate), Gus (Maureen), Floyd (Patsy), and Hughie (Colleen), all of Antigonish; and Lewis (Florence), of Marydale; sister in-law, Marge Farrell, Antigonish, and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brothers; Greg (Helen), James (Kay), Doug (Mary), Joe, and Findlay; sisters Marcella (Jim) and Lydia (Joe); brother in law, Martin Brophy.

Visitation will be in C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College Street, Antigonish on Sunday from 7 to 9 pm and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. Funeral Mass will be in St. Ninian Cathedral on Tuesday at 11:00 am with Reverend Donald MacGillivray presiding. Burial in the parish cemetery.
