BOYD, Margaret Rita, OFS, 91, Sylvan Valley Road and formerly of Lakevale, died May 17, St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish.

Rita, born in Hawthorne, Inverness County, was the daughter of John D. (Johnny Old Donald) and Mary (Gillis) MacMillan.

Rita, OFS, was a member of the Secular Franciscan Order. She belonged to Brother Leo Fraternity, Montague, PEI.

She is survived by her children John A. (Terry), Donna, Daniel, Rev. Andrew M. and Catherine (Carlo) Santuccione. She is survived by seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband Lloyd Joseph and son Allan Gerard, by sisters Catherine Hughson, Ella Laidlaw, Cassie Smith, Anne Swan, Irene McNair, Frances Allen; and brothers Donald, Angus and John A.

Visitation will be held Tuesday 7-9pm and Wednesday 2-4pm and 7-9pm in C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College St, Antigonish. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday at 2pm in St. Ninian's Cathedral with Rev. Andrew M. Boyd celebrating. Burial in St. Columba Cemetery, Lakevale, at a later date.
