Fougere, James "Elmer", 83, Frankville, Antigonish Co. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Elmer on May 21, 2015 in Elk Court Shannex, Brookfield.

Born at the family farm in Frankville on May 21, 1932, Elmer was third youngest in a family of fifteen children of the late Francis N. and Laura (O'Neil) Fougere. He was the proud keeper of the "Fougere Homestead" for more than sixty years. Faith, family, friends and farming were his passions. He was a hard working, humble gentleman who would lend a helping hand to anyone, whether he knew them or not. He was a member of St. Paul's Parish and an active community volunteer.

His kind heart and jovial laugh will be deeply missed by his loving wife of sixty years, Isabel (Boucher); sons, Philip (Rosa), Edmonton and their children Ian, Anna and Anthony; Paul, Bomanville and his children, Ryan and Chad; Peter, Calgary; daughters, Gloria, Bedford; Mona (Sandy) MacDonald, Fall River and their children Neil, Todd, Larry and Darren; sister, Mary Frances (Jerry) Bent, Oshawa; sisters-in-law, Olga, Florence, Evelyn and Bernice and many nieces and nephews.

After a full and meaningful life he is now reunited with his brothers: Joseph, Frank, Damien, Wilfred, Nick, Gerard, Bernie, Raymond, Xavier and Benedict; sisters: Anna, Sadie and Helena.

Visitation will be Sunday, May 24th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm in St. Paul's Centre, Havre Boucher. Funeral Mass will be in St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church on Monday, May 25th at 11:00 am with Father Allan MacPhie and Father J. Roy Boucher,OMI presiding. Burial in the parish cemetery.

Special thanks to the staff of Elk Court who provided Elmer/Dad with excellent care and were a source of great comfort to his family.

No flowers please. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of N.S., Havre Boucher Community Centre or St. Paul's Centre. Family will be greeting friends and relatives at the Havre Boucher Community Centre following the funeral. Online condolences:www.clcurry.com.
