Fougere, James
"Elmer", 83, Frankville, Antigonish Co. It is
with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Elmer on May 21,
2015 in Elk Court Shannex, Brookfield.
Born at the family farm in Frankville
on May 21, 1932, Elmer was third youngest in a family of fifteen
children of the late Francis N. and Laura (O'Neil) Fougere. He was the
proud keeper of the "Fougere Homestead" for more than sixty
years. Faith, family, friends and farming were his passions. He was a
hard working, humble gentleman who would lend a helping hand to
anyone, whether he knew them or not. He was a member of St. Paul's
Parish and an active community volunteer.
His kind heart and jovial laugh will
be deeply missed by his loving wife of sixty years, Isabel (Boucher);
sons, Philip (Rosa), Edmonton and their children Ian, Anna and
Anthony; Paul, Bomanville and his children, Ryan and Chad; Peter,
Calgary; daughters, Gloria, Bedford; Mona (Sandy) MacDonald, Fall
River and their children Neil, Todd, Larry and Darren; sister, Mary
Frances (Jerry) Bent, Oshawa; sisters-in-law, Olga, Florence, Evelyn
and Bernice and many nieces and nephews.
After a full and meaningful life he is
now reunited with his brothers: Joseph, Frank, Damien, Wilfred, Nick,
Gerard, Bernie, Raymond, Xavier and Benedict; sisters: Anna, Sadie and
Helena.
Visitation will be Sunday, May 24th
from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm in St. Paul's Centre, Havre Boucher. Funeral
Mass will be in St. Paul's Roman Catholic Church on Monday, May 25th
at 11:00 am with Father Allan MacPhie and Father J. Roy
Boucher,OMI presiding. Burial in the parish
cemetery.
Special thanks to the staff of Elk
Court who provided Elmer/Dad with excellent care and were a source of
great comfort to his family.
No flowers please. Memorial donations
may be made to the Alzheimer's Society of N.S., Havre Boucher
Community Centre or St. Paul's Centre. Family will be greeting friends
and relatives at the Havre Boucher Community Centre following the
