Bowles, Donald Hugh, 62, of Springfield, passed away in St. Martha's Regional Hospital, Antigonish, on June 24, 2015.

Born in Antigonish, he was a son of Ambrose and the late Teresa (MacPherson) Bowles.

Donald loved the outdoors and spent the last three decades in the forestry industry. Prior to this, he worked at Silver and Hanifen and Ed's Plumbing and Heating for numerous years. He was one of the first lectors that read at St. Andrew's Catholic Church during Mass.

Besides his father, he is survived by his wife Erma (MacGrath); Son, Michael (Erika), Fort McMurray, AB, sisters: Madonna (late Don) Hall, Calgary; Sandra (Jim) Graham, Coutts, AB; Debbie (Bill) MacLellan, Moncton; Darlene, Calgary; Angela (Glen) Rooney, Dartmouth; brothers, Carmen (Angela), Lanark, and Gerard (Kim), Springfield; and many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his grandparents, George and Mary Ann Bowles and Dan and Nina MacPherson.

Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-4pm and 7-9pm in C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College St, Antigonish. Funeral Mass will be held Monday at 2pm, in St. Andrew's Church, St. Andrews, Reverend Charles Cameron presiding. Burial in South River Cemetery.
