Funeral Mass for the late Imelda Catherine Benoit will be held Saturday, September 18th at 2:00 pm in St. Paul's Church, Havre Boucher.  Due to Covid 19 restrictions there will not be a reception following the Mass.

Benoit, Imelda Catherine, age 90, of Havre Boucher, passed away January 8, 2021 in the RK MacDonald Nursing Home, Antigonish.

Born in Mulgrave, she was the daughter of the late James and Blanche (Power) MacDonald.

Mom was a homemaker who took pride in caring for her family. She always had the teapot on, loved a good chat and everyone loved her sense of humour. The three things that always brought a smile to Mom's face were bingo, scratch tickets and Jeopardy with Alex Trebek. She loved her friends dearly, and cherished time spent with them.

She is survived by her children Mickey (Pat), Orillia; Marlene (Ted), Kitchener; Carey, Havre Boucher; and Steven (Danielle), Antigonish; grandchildren Chris, Nicole, Amy, Sean, Michaela, Jordan, Morgan, Aaliyah, Alexis and Chastity; great grandchildren Jacob, Lilly, Ivy and Haven; sister, Martina Hatchette, Antigonish; brothers Ralph 'Vesty' (Roberta), Thorburn; and Bernie, Ottawa.

She was predeceased by husband Eugene; son Eugene; sisters Patricia, Corrine; brothers Basil 'Buddy', Neil, and Bert.

Cremation has taken place.  Funeral Mass and burial will be held in St. Paul’s Church, Havre Boucher at a later date.

We would like to thank the members of staff of Tanglewood who took such wonderful care of Mom and added to her quality of life, and her friends and family who visited, called and brightened her days. And a special thank you to Dr. Gallant who for years provided Mom the best medical care a person could ever hope for- We will be forever grateful.   Online condolences:
