MacIsaac, Kenneth Montgomery, aged 73, passed away May 3, 2021 at The Dartmouth General Hospital.

Born in Antigonish on May 7, 1947, he was the son of the late Alex "Tando" and Flora Christine (Mac Innes) MacIsaac.

Kenneth was a talented welder who was employed by Trenton Car Works and by many construction companies in the Maritimes and across Canada. His welding skills placed him in high demand throughout his working life. He retired early due to poor health.

Kenneth was also a talented musician whether singing, picking his 12-string guitar, tickling the ivories of his mother’s piano, or squeezing tunes from his accordion. His talents were much in demand at any social gathering in Giant’s Lake, Country Harbour, or any place where people gathered in friendship. He loved to laugh and bring a smile to the faces of others.

He was an avid reader. While not an academic, he could provide insightful observations on the issues of the day. His bible was never far from his eyes.

He is survived by his daughter, Christine (Paul), Halifax; his sister, Flora (Herman) Long and brothers, Aird (Sandra) and Norman (Judy), all of Giant’s Lake, brother, Angus "Tando" (Mary Ann) of Antigonish; and sister-in-law, Ann Marie Cameron, Lower South River. He is also survived by Lorraine Burton who was his landlady and caregiver for over 30 years.

Kenneth was predeceased by his wife, Bonnie; his parents, Tando and Flora; and brother, George.

The family would like to thank Lorraine for her kindness to Kenneth for more than 30 years. We also want to thank the nurses, doctors, and staff of the Dartmouth General Hospital for the care given Kenneth on the many occasions he needed that care, especially in the last two months.

Cremation has taken place. A gathering to celebrate Kenneth’s life will occur at a later date when COVID restrictions permit.

Donations in Kenneth’s name may be made to L’arche Antigonish or CACL Antigonish.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of C.L. Curry Funeral Home, Antigonish.  Online condolences:  www.clcurry.com
