It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mary (Mae) Catherine MacNeil (Boyle) on Jan. 13, 2022, at the age of 87. She is survived by her children Harriet Steele, Blaise MacNeil, Sandra (John) Drach, Jane MacNeil, Margie (Dave) Fracchia, Brad (Krista) MacNeil; grandchildren, Chris (Lena) Oevering; Amber, Kyley, Lyndon (fiancé - Rayne Wilson), Catherine, Francis, John-Paul, Dominic, and James Drach; Dean MacNeil; Christian (Seph) Fracchia and daughter Rosalie, Courtney Fracchia; Darren and Allysia MacNeil; great- grandchildren Caleb, Ezra, and Lucas Oevering; her sisters, Kaye Boyd; Ann (Neil) MacMillan; Tilly MacDonald; brother Francis Boyle ; sister’s-in-law Rose Boyle and Mary Boyle, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Mae lived the majority of her life in Antigonish, NS, but also spent time in Ontario. In 2013 she moved to Kamloops, BC to be closer to her children and grandchildren. Mae’s faith was extremely important to her, which she also instilled in her children. She was a member of the CWL for 24 years and was always willing to help out when needed. Mae loved to sing, play guitar and go to dances. She especially loved Scottish and country music. She worked at Morrison Hall at Saint Francis Xavier University for over 20 years. She was hard working in everything she did, whether at her job, volunteering, or at home. She was a very giving and selfless person, and had a great sense of humor. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.

A private funeral will be held at St. John Vianney Parish in Kamloops, BC on Saturday January 22, 2022 at 2:00pm with visitation prior to the funeral. Internment will take place at a later date at Saint Andrews Cemetery, in Saint Andrews, Antigonish County, NS.

In lieu of flowers, the family would greatly appreciate a donation in Mary’s name to the Alzheimer’s Society. Online condolences: www.clcurry.com.
