Leblanc, Ronald Charles, 59 of Frankville passed away Monday
April 4th, 2022, at St. Martha’s Regional Hospital in
Antigonish.
Born in Moncton, New Brunswick, Ron was the son of the late
Pierre and Jeannine (Melanson) Leblanc.
At a young age, Ron excelled at hockey; a love he passed on
to his son, Charlie. Nothing gave him greater joy than to see his son
on ice or his daughter, Leah, on the Volleyball court. His children
were his biggest source of pride.
Despite the educational obstacles Ron faced, with great
perseverance, he was able to combine his professional drumming while
returning to school, eventually earning his B.A in music and his
Bachelor of Education from St F. X. University, where he met his wife,
Monica. Ron was truly a life-long student who had an
unsurpassed love of learning. He was continuously striving to improve
his knowledge of musical technology to help the many musicians who
frequented his studio. He shared in the joy of his students' musical
successes and was their greatest cheering squad
Ron was a teacher and later a consultant with the CSAP School
Board. An avid musician, Ron was a very talented drummer who
considered his bandmates to be family. He performed in many bands
including Trax, Breakaway, Haywire, Rock Island Blues Band,
Saddletramp, Boys Gone Wild, Adam’s Orange, and more
recently, Flipside and Hammer Down. He always looked forward to
heading to Cheticamp to play percussion with the orchestra for Le
Grand Cercle and in house bands for Le festival de
l’Escaouette. He cherished the many friendships he made
along the way.
Ron was a fixer, a creator, an inventor, and jig-master.
Detailed oriented, there are a lucky few who have a piece of his
wooden works of art. His craftsmanship and attention to detail was
second to none. He also enjoyed anything computer related, especially
audio production in his home studio.
One of the highlights of Ron’s year was the
extended family gathering of the LeBlanc family in Bathurst, NB. Ron
would practice as soon as the snow left the ground for the ladder ball
tournaments he was bound and determined to win.
Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife, Monica
(Theriault); daughter, Leah; son, Charlie; sisters, Pierette (John
Butler) Bathurst, Natalie, Fredericton; brothers, Claude and Robert
(Tanya), Bathurst; and several special nieces and
nephews.
Funeral Mass will be held Friday, May 20th at 11:00am in St.
Paul's Church in Havre Boucher with Reverend Allan MacPhie
presiding.
Memorial donations may be made to the Antigonish Town and
County Palliative Care Society.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of C.L. Curry
