Boyle, Francis Alexander, age 85, of Antigonish, passed away in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow on June 15, 2022.

Born in Beauly, he was the son of the late William and Mary Margaret (Punch) Boyle.

Francis worked for Eastern Dairyfoods  and later  with the Dept. of Transportation until a work-related accident resulted in the loss of his leg.  Following the accident, he worked at Poirier’s Bottle Exchange and at the former Antigonish Correctional Centre as a correctional officer. In his younger years, Francis loved golfing, hunting, fishing and his daily walk and bike ride around The Landing..  He was a dedicated Toronto Blue Jays  and Toronto Maple Leafs fan.  Francis took great interest in politics, especially his PC Party, and spent hours watching the Parliament Channel. However, his greatest pride and joy were his grandchildren  and cheering them on in their life’s journey.

He is survived by his daughter, Michelle (Sandy) Stewart, Lochaber; grandchildren, Cameron, Manitoba; Jessie (Darren) Eight Island Lake; Matthew (Kelsey) Antigonish; Julia, Antigonish; sisters: Tilly MacDonald, Antigonish; Ann (Neil) MacMillan and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife, Margie (Milner), sisters, Mae MacNeil and Kaye Boyd; brothers: Joe, Danny, Jack and Allan Angus in infancy.

Cremation has taken place.  Funeral Mass will be in St. Ninian Cathedral on Tuesday, June 21st at 10:00 am with Father Danny MacLennan presiding.  Burial in the parish cemetery.  The funeral Mass will be recorded and available on C.L. Curry website on Tuesday afternoon.  Donations in memory may be made to a charity of choice.  Online condolences:  www.clurry.com.
