It is with deep sadness that her family announces the passing of Grayce Merriam (Boyd) Pellerin of Larry’s River, NS, on April 29, 2023 , in Milford Haven Home for Special Care in Guysborough.

Grayce was born on October 24, 1938, in Great Village, NS, to the late Percy and Christena (Merriam) Boyd.

She was a graduate of the Nova Scotia Teacher’s College in Truro, and for several years was a teacher in Halifax where she met her future husband, Basil Pellerin.  After their marriage, they moved to Larry’s River where they built a home and raised a family of four boys.  Over the years Grayce’s unwavering love, leadership, support, and commitment to her family and her community were extremely commendable, and she was always ready to volunteer. She was a long-time member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Guysborough Memorial Hospital, an avid supporter of Guysborough Options for Adaptive Living Society (GOALS), an avid bridge player, a gardener, and she excelled at cooking, crafts, and sewing. She was a beautiful singer who, for many years, was a member of the church choir.

She is survived by her three sons, Marc (Elaine), Fredericton; Neil (Leeann Theriault), Larry’s River; and Ian, L’Arche Cape Breton; two grandsons, Nicholas, and Patrick; sister, Meredith (Robert Layton); brother, Robert (Rose); brother-in-law, Gordie (Mary);sister-in-law Mary Catherine (M.C.)(MacDonald) Pellerin and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Basil; and her son, Jean André.

Visitation will be held Friday, May 5, 2023, from 7 to 9pm at the Communities Along the Bay Facility in Larry’s River. Funeral Mass will take place in St. Peter’s Church, Larry’s River on May 6, 2023, at 2pm.  Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Ladies Auxiliary, Guysborough Memorial Hospital.
