Beaver, Rudolph Hugh
"Rudy", Cloverville, Antigonish
Co,
It is with the
heaviest of hearts that we share the loss of Rudolph Hugh Beaver who
passed away peacefully at St Martha’s Regional
Hospital on May 3 2023 at the age of 83. Rudy was born to
loving parents Hughie Beaver, and Lorna (Monk) Beaver on April 18,
1940 in Murphy's Cove, Halifax
County.
As a young man
he started his adult life moving to Toronto, where he worked odd jobs
and was to meet his future wife of 60 years, Stella, before returning
to the Maritimes and eventually settling in Antigonish where he lived
out the remainder of his life. He found work at Eastern
Dairyfoods/Scotsburn where he worked for 40 years. Rudy was an avid
sportsman, he loved to hunt and fish, and enjoyed softball in his
younger years before transitioning to golf in his older
years. He was a stellar dart player as well and had no
trouble telling you so! He was a kind and
thoughtful man but could be stern and strict when the situation called
for it. He loved his life and was a people person.
Playing the guitar and listening to country music was another
passion.
He is survived
by his wife Stella (Warren); children: Cheryl
(Fred Alexander) Pleasant Valley; Travis (Lynn Kennedy), Port
Hawkesbury and daughter in law Mary Beaver, Fairmont; grandchildren:
Chris (Jodi), Justin, Daniel (Danielle), William, Chelsea, Dalton,
Dale, and Landon; great grandchildren Luca and Alec; sister, Lorna
Beaver, Tangier.
Rudy was
predeceased by his son Marc Beaver; sister, Joan Kennedy;
brothers, Glenn Beaver, and Darryl Beaver.
