MacLeod, Michael Roderick "Roddie", age 84, of Antigonish passed away on October 17, 2023, in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish.

Born in Reserve Mines, he was a son of the late Roderick and Veronica (MacNeil) MacLeod.

Roddie was an electrician by trade, but a jack of them all.  He would give you the shirt off his back, and he was the one to go to if you needed something done.  Roddie was hardworking, loving, and non-judgmental, and he had a great sense of humour.  He loved to tease, and you had to watch out for his cane.  Roddie loved the outdoors, and he was forever fond of his wild ducks.  He enjoyed fishing, spending time on the farm, and going for drives with his sidekick Brandon on any back road he could find while listening to his old country classics. Roddie loved to hum a tune as he worked, be it mopping the floor or doing an electrical job.

He is survived by his son, Paul (Wendy), Antigonish; daughters, Kathy, Antigonish; and Dawn (Jamie), Denver, NS; grandchildren, Brandon, River, Annabel, Holly, Aaron, Leah, Breanna, and Samantha, and three great-grandchildren; his half-brother, Joe Gilmet; and several nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his wife, Tena; daughter, Veronica; son, Allan; nine brothers and sisters; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm in C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College Street, Antigonish.  Funeral Mass will be held Friday at 11:00am in St. Ninian Cathedral, Antigonish, with Reverend Danny MacLennan presiding.  Burial in the parish cemetery.

In Memoriam, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society appreciated.

The family would like to thank Dr. Emily Rice and the nurses and staff in the Palliative Care Unit at St. Martha’s Hospital for their wonderful compassion and care.
