Pelly, Rita Elaine, age 67, of Pleasant Valley, Antigonish County, passed away on October 30, 2023, at home surrounded by her loved ones.

Born in Guysborough, she was a daughter of the late Roland and Annie (Jones) Worth, the third youngest of 17 children.

Mom loved her family deeply. She was never one to complain and always put her family first.  We are going to miss her infectious laugh and personality.  Mom was dedicated to her job at St. Martha’s Hospital for many years.  She enjoyed bingo, playing cards, going to dances, and playing darts with her kids and grandkids (this was always a great laugh).  Mom will now walk with us and guide us through spirit.  She will always be loved and deeply missed by us all.

She is survived by her sons, Keith (Patricia) and Delby (Cheryl), of Antigonish; daughters, Kathy (Alex) Wallace, Alberta; and Carol-Ann Bowie, Antigonish; their dad, Delbert Pelly; 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; sisters, Marie, Isabel, Hazel (Gary), Patricia (Brian), and Doreen, all of Antigonish; and Irene, Ontario; brothers, Charlie (Sheila), John, and Donald (Debbie); and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Joseph, William, Bernard, Angus, Leo, and Leslie; sister, Hilda; and son-in-law, Gerard Bowie.

Cremation has taken place, and there are no public services planned at this time.
