Cameron, Dona Louise, age 77 of Ashdale, Antigonish County passed away at St. Martha’s Regional Hospital on November 14, 2023.

Dona was born in Lewisporte, Newfoundland, the daughter of the late Alex and Lucy (Gates) Moyles.  Following her early years in Newfoundland, Dona moved to Ontario and it was there she met her future husband, Bill Cameron.  She and Bill moved back to Bill’s home in Nova Scotia where they spent many happy years raising their family.

To say Dona had a green thumb was an understatement.   She grew everything and grew it in abundance.  Her garden was filled with beautiful flowers as well as vegetables galore.  She was well known for her wonderful pickles and preserves. 

She is survived by her children: Jacqueline (Scott) Peters, Fraser Lake, BC; Thomas (Susan) Cameron, Antigonish; Howard Cameron, Simm Settlement; Lucy (Brennan) MacGillivary, Pleasant Valley; grandchildren: Ryan, Richard, Cameron, Logan, Breagh; step granddaughter, Jade; great granddaughters Robyn and Skylar; brothers: Jim, Lemuel and Tony; sisters: Eileen, Marina and Herma, all of Newfoundland.

She was predeceased by her husband Bill (October 7, 2023) and brother Woodrow.

Cremation has taken place.  Burial at a later date.  Memorial donations may be made to the Diabetes Association or St Martha’s Regional Hospital Foundation (Dialysis Unit). Online condolences: www.clcurry.com.
