McCully-Stubbs, Joyce Marie, age 22, of Pinevale, Antigonish
County, passed away on December 9, 2023.
Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of Trent Robin McCully
and Renée Janet Stubbs.
Joyce was a graduate of the Culinary Arts program through the
Strait Campus of the Nova Scotia Community College. She
spent an enjoyable year working in the kitchen at Little Cristos in
Antigonish before moving on to S & L Bakery. She
loved her job there, and they loved her, too.
Joyce was an artist. She was an excellent
photographer and also enjoyed origami, sewing, knitting, and
crocheting. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially kayaking,
spending time at the beach and the cabin, and swimming at the
lake. She loved plants and animals, and, given her love of
Gaelic, she had fond memories of her trip to Ireland,
also.
Besides her parents, she is survived by her sister, Frances
Irene; twin brother, Edward Louis; and baby sister, Julia Robyn;
grandparents, Ralph & Dorinda McCully and Agnes Carpenter
(Stan Barter) and James Stubbs (late Charlene MacRae); uncles, John
Paul Stubbs and Shawn (Anne-Marie) McCully; and cousins, James, Ethan,
and Jacob Stubbs and Lucas and Liam McCully.
Cremation has taken place, and visitation will be held Friday
from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm in C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College
Street, Antigonish. A private family funeral will be
held.
In Memoriam, donations to the Jordan Myles Foundation
appreciated.
