Roberts, David
Anthony "Dave" – 47 - of Antigonish and formerly
of St Andrews, Antigonish County, passed away March 10, 2024, at the
Victoria General Hospital in Halifax.
Born in
Halifax, he was the son of Peter Roberts and Kathie (Tony)
Awalt.
Dave was a
loving and proud partner, father, stepfather, and grandfather. His
hobbies were fishing, eagle watching, and going for "tours"
– with no particular destination in search of lighthouses
and oceans. Dave was a proud member of the St. Andrews Volunteer Fire
Department and a valued employee with Mike’s Courier (Canada
Post) until his health no longer allowed him that
privilege.
Dave was
happiest when he was around Mary and his children, and he always had a
smile on his face that lit up the room.
Dave was a
hardworking man that was extremely intelligent and dedicated to
everything he put his mind to. Dave had an extremely hard battle with
cancer which he fought with courage and optimism and still wore a
smile and appreciated everyone who stood by him during his
battles.
Dave is
survived by his loving partner and best friend, Mary Langille;
daughters, Paige, Kayla, and their mother, Bernadette Roberts of St.
Andrews; stepson, Shawn (Hannah) Langille of Halifax; stepdaughter,
Olivia Langille (Lee) Tibbetts of Dartmouth; granddaughter, Sophia
Langille; sister, Jennifer Roberts of Halifax; best friends, Patrick
Dean and Tanya Welton; his and Mary’s feathered friends, Taz
and Sammy and pride and joy fish
aquariums.
Predeceased by
maternal grandparents, William and Hope Shute, paternal grandparents,
Murray and Edith Roberts.
Cremation has
taken place and there will be no visitation by request. A celebration
of his life will take place at a later
date.
Special thanks
to the V.G. Cancer Unit 8th Floor, Dr.
Keating, St. Martha’s Hospital, VON, and
EHS.
In Memoriam,
donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society,
Cathy’s Place, or charity of your

Dave's smile
and quick wit and jokes will never be
forgotten.
