Tate, Foster William, age
53, Grosvenor, Antigonish Co., passed away as a result of a motor
vehicle accident on May 9, 2024.
Foster worked as a mechanic
with Nova Construction and prior to that at MacFarlane’s
Ultramar. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed working at
Riverside Speedway and watching what he could of the races.
He loved camping with his family leaving Cathy and Wanda lasting
memories of those happy times together, especially barbecuing pork
chops.
He is survived by his wife of
thirteen years, Cathy (DeCoste), daughter Wanda; brothers, Vincent
(Maggie) and David; and sister, Isabelle (Fred), all of Grosvenor;
father and mother-in-law, Berkley and Elizabeth DeCoste;
sister-in-law, Hilda (John) Bennett; brother-in-law, James DeCoste;
nieces and nephews: Morgan (his Godson), Matthew, Mitchell, Kendall,
Joseph (Christine), and Jennifer. He will also be greatly missed by
his furry family, Sofia and Missy.
Predeceased
by his parents, Harold and Anita; brother, Carmen and brother-in-law,
Dennis DeCoste.
Cremation has
taken place. Visitation will be in C.L. Curry Funeral Home,
135 College Street, Antigonish, on Thursday, May
16th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9
pm. Funeral Mass will be in St. Peter’s Church,
Tracadie, on Friday, May 17th at 11:00
am with Fr. John Barry presiding. Burial in St
Peter’s Cemetery.
