MacNeill, Marilyn
Arlene, 82, of Antigonish, formerly of Fredericton, NB,
passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, August
20th, in the Palliative Care Unit at St.
Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish, Nova
Scotia.
Born in
Fredericton, NB, Marilyn was a daughter of the late Myles and Marion
(Harding) Currie.
Marilyn
discovered her deep love of music and singing at an early
age. Music became a personal passion that brought her joy
that was shared throughout her life with her family and friends.
Throughout her husband Wayne’s many RCMP postings, Marilyn
sang in many church and local choirs in the numerous communities that
they lived in over the years.
Early in her
adult life, Marilyn studied the vocation of Nursing in Moncton,
NB. The qualities of care and compassion she honed
through this discipline were evident in the time she spent in the
profession, but were most appreciated in the home she created with her
loving husband while raising their three sons.
Marilyn’s grandchildren were the greatest joys of her life
and she loved to spend time with them outdoors and on family
vacations. She took great pride in their lives and each of
their accomplishments.
She is
survived by Wayne, her loving husband of 60 years.
Sons: Jeffrey (Tami), Malpeque, PEI; Gregory
(Stacey), Houston, Texas; and Mark (Michelle), Quispamsis,
NB; six grandchildren: Katrina, Rebecca, Andrew, Ryan, Steven, and
Ben; sister Judy Hawkins, Fredericton, NB; brother-in-law Aubrey
Kelly, Riverview, NB, and sister-in-law Laura Currie, Fredericton,
NB.
Besides her
parents, she is predeceased by her sister Patricia Kelly and brother
Ross Currie.
