Bowles, Joseph "Wayne", 72, of Dunmore Road, St. Andrews, Antigonish County, passed away on August 27, 2024, at St. Martha's Regional Hospital, Antigonish.

Born in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, to the late Vincent and Vera (Sweeney) Bowles, Wayne was raised in Alder River, Guysborough County.

Wayne worked in forestry as a heavy equipment operator for over 50 years, and he was known for his hard, honest work and dedication.

He loved hunting, auto racing, the Toronto Maple Leafs, spending time outdoors, cutting firewood or working in the blueberry fields with his brothers, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Wayne loved his family unconditionally and was a devoted family man especially to his True Love of over 50-years, his wife, Anna; children, Joey (Jess), Fort McMurray Alta; and Susie (Mack), Fort McMurray, Alta; grandchildren, Brandon and Liam; brothers, James, Alder River; David, Dunmore; Everett, Ontario; Francis, Pomquet River; and Vincent, Dunmore; sisters, Evelyn "Dolly", New Glasgow; and Donna (Roger) Mansfield, Antigonish; and his many nieces and nephews. 

Predeceased by brothers, Harold and Brian; sisters, Mary and Theresa; and a brother and sister in infancy.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will Sunday, September 8th, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm in C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College Street, Antigonish. The funeral service will be private, and burial will take place at a later date.

In Memoriam, donations may be made to the Tom McNeil Cancer Patient Care Fund under the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation.
