Donoghue, Thomas "Tom", age 85, of Antigonish, Nova Scotia, passed away on September 11, 2024, in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital, Antigonish.

Born in Lancastershire, England, he was a son of the late Kenneth and Alice (Warburton) Donoghue.

Tom was a proud Officer of the Royal Canadian Air Force. He enlisted when he was 17 and was posted to CFB Rockliff outside of Ottawa, Ontario where he met his wife, Gail. They were lovingly married for 64 years and had two beautiful children.

By all accounts, Tom lived an extraordinary life. He had a successful career, traveled the world, and built his dream home in Bequia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines where he and Gail lived for 20 years. He dedicated his free time to charity work for Friends of Bequia Hospital and Sunshine School for Children’s Special Needs. Tom loved to make people laugh and smile. He will be missed by friends around the world.

He is survived by his wife Gail Donoghue (Provost); children, Catherine Meery (Darrell) - Antigonish NS, Steve Donoghue (Gerri) - Halifax NS; grandchildren, Adam (Bettina) - California USA,  Daniel (P.J.) - Toronto ON, Caitlyn (Ben) - Halifax NS; great grandchildren, Stella, Rosie, Kane; and siblings,  Eric (Julia), Anne (Mirza), and Alan (Beverly).

A celebration of life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 59 in the East Coast Credit Union Social Enterprise Centre, 75 St. Ninian Street, Antigonish, NS on Tuesday, September 17th, at 2pm.  There will be a Legion Remembrance Ceremony at 2:30 followed by remembrances of Tom, and this will be streamed live on the funeral home website.
