MacPherson, Mary Theresa, age 96, of St. Andrews, Antigonish County, passed away on December 1, 2024, in the R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home, Antigonish.

Born in Sydney, she was a daughter of the late William and Mary (MacDonald) Quirk.

Theresa was absolutely tireless.  Her house was always open to all, and you could find her in the kitchen cooking and baking, with a hot tray of biscuits on the counter.  Every table was a banquet.

A smart woman with a great sense of humour and an appreciation for having her hair perfect, Theresa loved being social, never missing a dance in St. Andrews and always up for a game of auction.  She had a house full of flowers and plants, and she was an avid gardener, knitter, and seamstress.

A woman of tremendous faith, Theresa was a member of St. Andrews CWL for 66 years.

She is survived by her children, Donnie (Marilyn), Dartmouth, with son, Michael (Tracey); Mary Catherine (Ken) Lyle, Calgary, with children Charmaine, Terrance, Kim, Lisa, and Lee Ann; Georgina (Greg) Murphy, Pitchers Farm, with children, Garrett (Monica) and Gerald (Keri); Jerome (Janet), Antigonish, with children, Cheryl Anne, David, and Lewis; Margie, Antigonish; and Gerard (Janice), Alberta, with children Beth (Justin), Daniel, Toshia Lee (Brad), and Amber; foster son, Greg Albert; and great grandchildren, Carter, Stuart, Cora, Casey, Gavin and Averie.

Predeceased by her husband, Daniel William; son, William Gerard; great grandson, Seth Emery; and foster son, Ron Redmond.

Visitation will be held Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm in C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College Street, Antigonish.  Funeral Mass will be held Friday at 10:00am in St. Andrew’s Church, St. Andrews, with Reverend Dan MacDonald and Reverend Dennis Lamey presiding.  Burial in South River Cemetery.

In Memoriam, donations to the Oak and Owl Club or St. Andrews Parish appreciated.
