Wotton,
Bernice Bonita (nee Blundell) — age 64, of Brierly Brook,
Antigonish County, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2025, in St.
Martha’s Regional Hospital,
Antigonish.
Born in
Corner Brook, Newfoundland, she was the daughter of Nellie (Woolridge)
and the late Cecil Blundell.
Bernice was
known above all for her selfless spirit and her unwavering kindness.
She had an extraordinary gift for making everyone feel loved and
welcome. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, her greatest joy was
her family — her life revolved around her boys, her beloved
husband, Ernie, and her treasured grandchildren. Bernice and Ernie
shared a love of travel, making countless cherished memories together
with family and friends along the way.
Dedicated to
the success of their family dental practice, Bernice’s
commitment and warmth left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Her love for animals, especially her dogs, was another cornerstone of
her life. To know Bernice was to know compassion, strength, and beauty
— qualities she embodied every day. Her impact on the lives
she touched is immeasurable, and her legacy will live on in all who
loved her.
In addition
to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Ernie; her sons, Lewis
(Lisa) of Antigonish, Kyle (Sarah) of Charlottetown, Bryce (Kimberly)
of Fort McMurray, and Dylan of Cole Harbour; her cherished
grandchildren, Tate and Banks; her sister, Marie (Alf) of St.
John’s; her brother, Glenn (Mica) of Toronto; her
"daughter" Mia; her beloved fur grandbabies, Dani and Blue;
and her large extended family and many dear friends, all of whom will
miss her deeply.
Visitation
will be held Tuesday from 12:00 noon to 5:00 pm at C.L. Curry Funeral
Home, 135 College Street, Antigonish. A Celebration of Bernice's Life
will be held Tuesday from 7 to 9pm in St. Ninian Place,
Antigonish.
Funeral service will be held Friday in
Hickman’s Harbour, Newfoundland, from the former Salvation
Army at 12:30 pm with burial to follow at the Salvation Army
Cemetery.
The family
would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses,
and staff of the Palliative Care Unit, PCU, and Oncology Department at
St. Martha’s Regional Hospital for the compassionate and
attentive care given to Bernice throughout her illness. Your kindness
and support will never be forgotten.
