Pelrine, J.
Vincent, age 62, of Antigonish and formerly of Havre Boucher died on
July 25, 2025, in St. Martha’s Regional Hospital,
Antigonish.
Born in
Antigonish, he was a son of Evelyn (Brow) and the late Anthony
Pelrine.
Vincent was a
fisheries observer, and he had many stories to tell from the
boats. He was very knowledgeable, and he loved passing his
knowledge on to others. Sometimes that was with his work,
which included him training people overseas, and sometimes it was with
his love of history, which included him giving presentations to people
in his community about the Halifax Explosion. Vince also
enjoyed singing and songwriting, and he was always performing at Irish
sessions and open mics across the region. Vince was a true
friend, and he was a wonderful uncle. He had a very giving
nature and was first in line to lend a helping
hand.
Besides his
mother, Evy, he is survived by his siblings, Nancy (Ken) Fall,
Charlottetown; Denise (Kenny) Deon, Havre Boucher; Glenn (Tracy)
Pelrine, Havre Boucher; and nieces and nephews, Madison, Matthew,
Kaitlyn, Anthony, Emily, Alex, Connor, and
Donovan.
Besides his
father, he is predeceased by his sister, Jeannine, in
infancy.
Visitation
will be held Wednesday from 6 to 9pm in St. Paul’s Centre,
Havre Boucher. Funeral Mass will be held Thursday in St.
Paul’s Church at 11:00am with Reverend Allan MacPhie
presiding.
Family
flowers only, please. In lieu of flowers, donations to the
Music Therapy Program at St. Martha’s Hospital, the
People’s Place Library, or St. Paul’s Church
